Why I’m Running for School Board

It’s the first question asked of me by the majority of those I speak to, “why are you running”?   The question is usually followed by further questions of adding to work load, taking on issues, will you continue serving in Bismarck….and are you crazy?   Those are legitimate questions and my reason for announcing begin and end with my children.  I currently have two daughters in the school system, the same system my adult son graduated in 2021 and the same system I graduated in 1989.  I believe through my experience as a graduate and now parent, I’ve built numerous beneficial relationships at all levels of education.  That includes the administration (via the legislature), teachers (through communications and parenting), parents and students (by coaching and volunteering) and the taxpayer (as a real estate broker/investor and elected official).  My experience in conducting public hearings, serving on appointed and elected boards, negotiating contracts in business and following education programs and curriculums, I believe I bring a unique opportunity to improve the functionality of our board.  I not only want the best educational system and outcomes for my children, but for all of #MinotKids.
