Making a Positive Impact

Youth Involvement

  • Coached T ball for the Sertoma League, softball for the Minot Parks and Recreation, soccer for the Minot Soccer Association, basketball through the YMCA and basketball and volleyball for Edison Elementary.
  • Serve as a team host for Class A and B boys and girls basketball tournaments and girls volleyball tournaments.
  • Volunteer at high school and middle school track and cross country meets.

Scott Louser’s Goals

  • Successful transition opening Minot High North High School and moving Central Campus to our third middle school.
  • Addressing the budget deficit as proposed for 2025 and into the spring of next year for 2026 without raising property taxes without a vote of the residents of Minot.
  • Increasing graduation rates and overall test scores for our MPS students.
  • Enhancing public input at MPS board meetings and offering a minimum of quarterly public forums to be held at various elementary schools throughout Minot.
  • Explore Open Enrollment options.
  • Increase public communication of board meetings and agenda items.
  • Challenge parent involvement in education offerings in Minot.
  • Review and approve appropriate curriculum offerings.

Legislative

North Dakota State Capitol

  • Serving as District 5 Representative since being first elected in 2010 (southwest Minot).
  • Proposing comprehensive property tax reform, K-12 school funding and private school option bill draft to be introduced in 2025.
  • Former Assistant Majority Leader and Caucus Chairman.
  • Current Chairman of the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee and member of the Government and Veterans Affairs Committee.
